1967 Corvette Resto Mod

The builder of this incredible 1967 Corvette had the best of both worlds in mind with this build. All modern drive train and electronics yet the look of the original 1967 C2 Corvette. The fit and finish is far better than GM did in 1967 with and incredible Marina Blue finish and an all new 1967 leather interior that is simply stunning. Every time I look at this car I am amazed at the idea this well known Corvette builder and restorer had in mind to create a modern sports car with a true dedication to the original look and appearance.

The donor car for this build was a Tuscon AZ car totally rust free and now setting on a modern Street Shop Chassis. The Street Shop Chassis allowed the wheels to have a slight dish/offset with no modifications of or cutting of the floor or rear tub, no flares or extended fenders. The frame rails are rectangular tubing with front mandrel bent tubing so no square cuts and minimal welding. The chassis is Powder coated satin black, and utilizes a combination of new GM suspension parts, a Dana 44 posi-traction unit, and aftermarket parts such as QA1 adjustable coilover shocks on all 4 corners, Wilwood brake calipers, Flaming River power steering rack and pinion. It also includes a removable crossmember if transmission removal is ever required.

The Engine is an LS3, 6.2 liter aluminum block with Cam Motion camshaft upgrade, Borla 8 stack EFI, Street Shop front serpentine belt accessory drive, vintage Corvette aluminum valve covers, coil packs relocated below exhaust manifolds, estimated 500 HP but has not been dynoed. Has a nice lope at idle from the cam, but remains reliable and very streetable, with incredible performance.

The Transmission is Tremec TKO 600, 2.87 1st gear ration, .82 5th gear ratio overdrive. 4th gear is 1:1 ratio. Very comfortable highway cruising with a 3:08 rear ratio. Shifter is a 67 Corvette replica lever with reverse lockout handle which is for appearance only. All new custom driveshaft, half shafts, yokes, and U joints.

Wheels are custom Billet Specialties model name is Turbine, 17″ front and rear.

Exhaust is Cadillac CTSV manifolds feeding undercar 3″ stainless and custom stainless mufflers in the rear. Exit is through factory rear exhaust valence and bezels. The sound of this car is quite muscular and yet pleasurable in the cockpit.

The radiator is a DeWitts aluminum for the LS engine with dual electric fans.

The body is all stock, press molded fiberglass (smooth on both sides), no flares, no extensions, all factory bonding strips in place, no crappy repairs, splices, or hand laid fiberglass repairs. Floor pans are bare black factory fiberglass, no black paint, undercoating, or anything to hide previous damage.

Headlight motors utilize Detroit Speed upgrade which opens and closes the headlight buckets instantly instead of the slow factory style motors.

All exterior chrome has been replated, all emblems and tail lights are new, stainless window trim has been polished, all new weatherstripping, window fuzzies, etc.

Interior is all Al Knoch materials to include dash pads, leather seat covers, factory head rests, carpet, deluxe door panels, headliner. Dash cluster has been upgraded to Dakota Digital analog style gauges with blue backlighting. The radio is an aftermarket replica of the original with bluetooth capabilities and upgraded speakers. A flush mount power antenna is installed in factory location on left rear deck.  Vintage Air is installed for Air conditioning, custom kit made specifically for 67 Corvette. Works excellent, and much better than original GM factory air. Doors have factory power windows controlled by factory switch located in center console. This car can be seen in Scottsdale AZ.

This build was completed in January of 2022 and has 1,500 well sorted miles. Don’t miss this one as it is truly one of a kind.
