Hi-Tech Legends’ interpretation of the classic 1967 Shelby GT500 is a ground-up recreation that blends vintage style with modern performance sensibilities. Rather than refurbishing an old vehicle, this version is built with all-new steel body panels and components, engineered to faithfully reflect the iconic design of the original while accommodating up-to-date mechanical features. It’s designed to accept contemporary engines and transmissions, and it incorporates things like independent suspension, power-assisted brakes, and electronic steering to give drivers a smoother, more confident experience behind the wheel.
Inside, the cabin pairs classic aesthetics with high-grade materials. Premium Nappa leather, supportive sport-inspired seats, refined trim elements and quality German-sourced carpeting create a luxurious atmosphere that still honors the spirit of the 1960s muscle car era. Modern conveniences such as advanced sound systems, AUX/USB connectivity, and optional HVAC systems further enhance the comfort and usability of the interior without detracting from its classic character.
Underneath it all, this GT500 homage combines robust structural elements and precision-engineered underpinnings to deliver capable handling and reliability. Custom suspension components, high-performance braking packages, and carefully designed chassis reinforcements help bridge the gap between old-school looks and today’s driving expectations. With contemporary wiring harnesses, safety systems, and optional modern technology features, this model is built to be both a head-turning showpiece and a rewarding car to drive.
The chassis is an exact replication of the original monococque unibody structure down to the press steel roof spider. The only departure is the use of electro-galvanized sheet steel in the construction. The chassis, at over 12,000 pounds per degree is stiffer than any other chassis on the market, and is made up of over 244 laser cut and bent or pressed parts.
The suspension features the original race car lay out. So original are the GT40 continuation models that two thirds of the parts are interchangeable with an original. Bilstein shocks with H&R springs.
Pressed steel roof and beautifully finished body.
The recommended power source is a specially prepared Roush engine with the new RBT/ZF style 5-speed transaxle but owners also have the option to fit a Ford-based 289, 302, or 351W small block.
