October 30th, 2018 at the SEMA show in Las Vegas, Superformance LLC Introduced the latest in their line of exciting 1960’s inspired Continuation and Replica Models. This time mating the GT40’s LeMans victories from 1968 and 1969 with the Ford GT’s Recent LeMans Victory.
The Future GT Forty is based upon the GT40MKI Body and Chassis that Superformance has been building since the early 2000’s. Introducing Aero based upon the modern Ford Gt Race cars such as Twin Carbon Fiber Canards, Quick Detach Carbon Rear Wing, and Removable Carbon Fiber Front Splitter. The paint Scheme was a no-brainer as it sports the same paint scheme as the #68 Ford GT that recently won LeMans for Ford.
On the Inside, the Future GT Forty, sports a modernized version of its traditional removable seats and Electronic Gauge Package that sits in the exact same place as the original race cars. Standard in Left Hand Drive with Center shift, the 1968/1969 Right Hand Drive and Sill Shift is an available option.
Sitting on HRE 18″ Front and 19″ Wheels, Superformance opted for a traditional feel with Center locking nuts, making these wheels pin-drive just like the original racecars. Wrapped in much upgraded rubber with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 Tires. A Wide Body Option is also available meaning you can get 345 series tires out back for over a foot of tread on the ground.
Suspension is RideTech’s Shockwave Suspension up front with optional matching rear suspension or KW HLS lift system. Lighting is provided by LED headlights in a traditional GT40 Housing with LED rear taillights featuring integrated turn signals. Brakes are Wilwood 6-Piston Brakes with Slotted Rotors. Drilled Rotors are also available.
The chassis is an exact replication of the original monococque unibody structure down to the press steel roof spider. The only departure is the use of electro-galvanized sheet steel in the construction. The chassis, at over 12,000 pounds per degree is stiffer than any other chassis on the market, and is made up of over 244 laser cut and bent or pressed parts.
The suspension features the original race car lay out. So original are the GT40 continuation models that two thirds of the parts are interchangeable with an original. Bilstein shocks with H&R springs.
Pressed steel roof and beautifully finished body.
The recommended power source is a specially prepared Roush engine with the new RBT/ZF style 5-speed transaxle but owners also have the option to fit a Ford-based 289, 302, or 351W small block.
